Getting Our Ducks in a Row: Preparing for God’s Multiplication
This past Sunday at Myrtle House Community Church, Ellen Chapman reminded us that God is on a mission for us to get our ducks in a row. It is about preparation, about being ready for what God wants to do in our lives, our church, and our community.
God’s plan is that His Kingdom would come on earth, and He calls each of us to play a part. He does not just want us to survive. He wants our lives to bear fruit, to multiply, and to bring transformation to the world around us.
In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commissions us to “go and make disciples.” This is not only a command for pastors or leaders. It is for every follower of Jesus. As we obey, as we go, our lives are changed from the inside out, and the lives of those around us are changed too.
God is in the business of multiplication. From Genesis, where He blessed creation to be fruitful and multiply, to Elisha and the widow’s oil in 2 Kings 4, to Jesus feeding the 5000 in John 6, we see a God who takes little and turns it into abundance. But multiplication always comes through obedience.
Ellen challenged us again to commit ourselves in practical ways:
Praying daily for multiplication, growth, and revival.
Fasting one day a week for God’s work in our church.
Blessing someone intentionally for a month.
Giving with radical generosity, giving until it costs us something.
Multiplication is not only about numbers. It is about fruitfulness. It is about lives marked by the fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:16-20, which lists love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the signs that the Spirit is at work in us.
If we are obedient, God promises to bless us and to use us. Getting our ducks in a row is about alignment with His will, about saying “yes” when He calls.
So the question is: Are you ready to prepare, to obey, and to step into God’s mission of multiplication?
