Why do we...?

Why do we Worship God?

"You must worship the Lord your God; serve only Him."

Why do we have Speaking in Unknown tongues and the Interpretation in the Church?

"So, dear brothers and sisters, be eager to prophecy, and don't forbid speaking in tongues. But be sure that everything is done properly and in order."

Why do we Sing Songs as well as Hymns?

"Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the holy spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the lord in your hearts."

Ephesians 5:18-19

How do we Worship God?

John 4:23-24

Why do we Sing in Tougues and in English?

Some Stories
Steve Campion: This was the right place to be.

Growing up until the age of five I have some happy memories. At the age of five my parents split up, one minute to me things seemed fine, the next we were being taken away from our dad. The next thing I remember is going into a car with total strangers and driving for hours. I was soon to find out we had moved away with my mothers new boyfriend, how I took this at the time I cant remember. The only thing I can remember is after about two weeks, this stranger hitting me with a leather belt, this soon was a regular occurrence. As time went on things did not get better. From belts to bear hands usually to my bear skin. Growing up I hated this man, I would never bring friends to the house because the times I did he would just shout and make me feel so little. Through my childhood I lived in fear, fear of the next time I would get a beating. How ever much I hated this man I always tried to please him,as far as going out robbing houses and shops with him, he use to tell me if I got caught I was to young for the police to do anything, this still didn't please him, the beatings would still go on. The only happy memories through these years are when he went to prison, I felt I could be me without having to live a lie of trying to be someone else. When he went to prison for the second time I thought my mother would not have him back, but when he got out he came for a visit, and I can remember my mother asking me if I thought she should have him back, thinking that is what she wanted I said yes. For years after I felt guilty for saying yes, the beatings stopped for a little while.

Crag Newton: I Love being part of God's Family

I love being part of God’s family, knowing that my Father has a plan and purpose for my life. Abram’s clear determination to look forward and not back as he makes plans for his son’s future is a clear reflection of God’s heart. I believe God has called each of us to live life, enjoying the present whilst looking ahead to the future and all the things He has in store for us.

Remember Paul’s words to the Philippians “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Phil 3: 12-14).

Let’s press on towards the goal together.

A Missionary, aged 14: I praise God for His love for me! He was so faithful through all of my pain.

I grew up in America in a Christian home. At the age of 6 I was baptized; however, I didn’t truly know what a relationship with God meant until 2006 when God called my family into the mission field. We moved over to Europe for a 9 month training course then headed to Africa. It was extremely difficult to live in a minuscule village where next to no one spoke English or had never heard of the one true God. I had to put my trust in God every day. I struggled greatly with living in a place where if I even stuck my head out of my bedroom window people would point and laugh. I asked God every day to give me strength and to help me love these people that He loves so deeply.

Joe Cudd: the answers lie in the most surprsing places...
We often wonder where God may be...I was thinking this the other day after a loss in the family...as I thought this thought I stared into a puddle and saw a reflection of a tree in the background. A giant presence invisible normally ignored and passed by...but always there...so when you wonder look at a puddle...the answers lie in the most surprsing places...

Simon Batten: "You Never Let Go"

We were singing "You Never Let Go" by Matt Redman on Sunday, and I couldn't help but think how faithful God was, and how true the words of the song was. I just had to go up the front and tell of Gods faithfulness.

There was a time in my life when I didn't think much of myself or the world I lived in, I just wanted to escape from it all, so I used to until I was unconscious.

Long Story cut short - I called on the Lord and here I am today, happy and praising the Lord, giving Him all the glory because He is so faithful to the heart that holds on. God gave me a scripture at that time, which was John 10:10 "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."

Believe me, He does in abundance! God bless, and keep going after God.
